Wat info over de minder bekende Delmont door Hemmings Moters:
The Delmont 88 only lasted two years in the Oldsmobile lineup, but it was certainly a memorable run, out of all proportion to its build totals. In 1967, you had your choice of seven different Delmont 88 varieties, broken down by whether they used Oldsmobile's 330-cu.in. or 425-cu.in. V-8s. The latter engine, installed in a Delmont 88 Town Sedan, became a famed bad-boy pursuit bullet for the California Highway Patrol. With a minor styling ruffle, the Delmont 88 continued into 1968, its final year, re-divided into four models: two-door Holiday hardtop, four-door Holiday hardtop, four-door Town Sedan and two-door convertible, all of them Oldsmobile's pricing doorbusters, now fitted with a standard 350-cu.in. V-8 making 250 horsepower. By any conceivable or defensible measure, Delmonts are unusual cars, and as a result, they're rarely seen in today's collector-car market, and almost never at car shows. Perspective: Amid total 1968 sales of 562,459 units, Oldsmobile produced 121,418 cars in the Delmont 88 line. The total included 18,391 two-door Holiday hardtops, with their enormously long, curved, luxuriant fastback roof-lines.
